In Zapotec you need to start with the possessed nouns phrase which is què', then the possessor noun phrase.
The main focus during our class session was on subject pronouns appearing after què'. The 3rd person informal has a special genitive form, -ni and -cani. Note the grave accent and lack of glottal stop. Then què'+ ya' gives us cha' and què'+ lu' gives us cho'.
